Local flower delivery in Chlumčany

Chlumčany lies about 15 km south-south-west of Pilsen on the railway line from Pilsen via Klatovy to Železná Ruda. LASSELSBERGER makes RAKO-branded ceramic wall and floor tiles here; the former Chlumčanské keramické závody were based here. The Xella plant has made Ytong aerated concrete in Chlumčany since 1975, initially under the name Prefa Přeštice.

The first written record of the village dates to 1379, when it belonged to the Chlumčanský family from Přestavlky. Above the village, the Chapel of the Virgin Mary stands on a hill 414 m above sea level; it was built between 1746 and 1749. The TJ Keramika sports ground has football pitches and tennis courts.
